I really like seeing fashion endeavors that carry an honest tune- it's something that I think does not happen enough in today's fashion industry. This is why I loved reading about LAURENCEAIRLINE and their plan to collaborate with the people of the Ivory Coast in order to generate promise for the future.

LAURENCEAIRLINE's spring/summer 2012 menswear collection "ABIDJAN"- which is named after designer Laurence Chauvind Buthaud's hometown- is centered around shirts and underwear that are made with a stylish mix of poplin, chambray, and wax cotton. The colorful graphics and exact cuts create a novel energy that is suitable for "the modern tribal pop man."

The earnings from their launch will be used to build a learning space for the young people of the Ivory Coast. The space will allow students a place to develop design skills like sewing and knitting and will also create employment opportunities. Education in Abidjan remains financially unattainable for most people and so this project makes learning such a creative trade possible.
